Something Fishy: Stop That!

Dear Pastor Lee,

To start with splendid harmony, I appreciate your excellent preaching.  Namely, boldness in using strong volume, secondly, your great enthusiasm, thirdly, fine personal testimony, fourthly, your willingness to call out sin, and fifthly, the depth of knowledge you have for someone your age. And a bonus, covering one of my more favorite books, that of Jonah.

Yet there's a problem! Actually several. First, you persist in binding divine literalism. Now whale is a mistranslation, its great fish. And whales aren't fish, they're mammals. No giant fish could ever swallow a man without killing him. And Jonah never went to Ninevah, let alone converting the Assyrians.  The Royal Library of Ashurbanipal was established in the 7th century BC, over 30,000 cuneiform tablets. And we have the Assyrian National Library, biggest of its kind. Nothing. Very UN-likely that the LORD ever spoke directly to Jonah. The story likely came from mythology surrounding the constellation Cetus. Then Job and the land of Uz likely never existed, etc. etc.

You discredit Christianity amongst the highly educated who are not beholden to your traditions. The only information we must believe or else, is everything about the life of Jesus and His moral teachings. Millions believe in God-authored literalism but only cherry-pick the parts they want and refuse to follow the rest.  Or twist the texts. Does them no good.

Also, you ape your guru, Wayne Grudem, who somewhat serves sin. Now some clearly serve sin, so that everyone likes them, and they maintain lavish riches.  For example, approving Sodomite so-called "marriage", fornication, or whatever. Or today's Catholic church, who allows seven reasons for divorce and remarriage, as long as you pay them for an annulment.  Yet also, Wayne Gruden approves of three reasons when there's only one.  The other two are adultery which lead to Hell.

Other heresies: his Once Saved Always Saved makes people feel good and like him (while risking their souls).  So does his unscriptural immediate Heaven after death claptrap, confusion over baptism, falsehoods concerning the Jews, etc. He can't even follow his own rule as he rejects the Deuterocanon when the united Church (body of Christ) saw it as canon from the start. And Jesus and His early disciples never told him it was non-authoritative. He makes stuff up or repeats jargon to align with his religious tradition. He won't speak truth on many issues because of it.  Afraid for his livelihood and status (?), he so mixed some lies in with truth.

There's a reason for 1st Corinthians 7:32-24: "He that is unmarried is careful for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord; but he that is married is careful for the things of the world, how he may please his wife, and is divided." (ASV).  Roman Catholic priests? They are married too. To a corrupt institution. I, however, have no such burden.

As far as I know, no church group today is the one Christ established. See A Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs, David W. Bercot editor.  Right now, you're just a monkey dancing for an organ grinder. You can do much better! So, if you're too afraid to risk your job, at least repent by keeping the lies silent, and teach the full truth anonymously via the Internet. That would be much appreciated. I can prove everything I've said with logic. Take care.
